Featured Project: Alpine Media Technology Takes Digital Signage to New Heights

Alterra Mountain Company, owners of 14 year-round mountain recreation destinations, announces its partnership with Denver-based Alpine Media Technology to offer a first-of-its-kind digital communication system to resort guests.

Alterra’s All Mountain Platform utilizes Alpine Media Technology’s trademarked LiftDigital, what the company claims is the world’s first and only digital content display system for chairlifts & gondolas.

According to Alterra, skiers and riders spend as much as 75 minutes on a chairlift each day, and now they can have access to real-time, relevant content to help them maximize their day. LiftDigital provides digital trail maps, lift open/closed status reports, trail status and

grooming reports, weather information, resort events info, emergency messaging, and even

live camera feeds to show traffic road conditions. AMP rounds out it’s information system by providing this same content to large indoor and outdoor displays across resorts and a mobile app. At one resort, for example, it installed 55″ indoor displays at seven locations in lodges and 50″ outdoor displays at the base of the mountain.

For the current ski season, Alpine Media Technology is being featured at Alterra’s Winter Park Resort and Steamboat in Colorado.
