Thanks to the results of its writing instrument giveback program, Koozie Group recently presented three regional United Way chapters with checks for over $8,800. The donations bring Koozie Group’s total support since 2022 to over half a million dollars.

Over the past three years, Koozie Group has committed to donating 5% of writing instrument sales that referenced a code to regional chapters of United Way in Florida and Minnesota, where its facilities are located. To date, the program has generated over $55,000 in cash donations to these regional chapters: United Way Suncoast in Tampa, Florida; United Way of Goodhue, Wabasha, and Pierce Counties in Red Wing, Minnesota; and United Way of the Brown County Area in New Ulm, Minnesota.

Koozie Group’s support of United Way goes beyond cash donations, however. In-kind donations since 2022 have reached nearly $450,000. The company’s employees especially enjoy participating in annual back-to-school events that benefit children in their local communities. Each year, Koozie Group delivers 2,000 backpacks filled with markers, crayons, pencils, water bottles, and more to the three United Way chapters. Other notable support has included hurricane relief efforts in Florida.

“As part of our Keep It. Give It. vision, we strive to do business in a way that benefits our people, our customers, our communities, and our industry,” explained Trisha Joyce, employee engagement and communications manager with Koozie Group. “Givebacks are one of the many ways we accomplish this goal, and we are so proud to support amazing organizations like our local United Way chapters.”

Koozie Group will continue its writing instrument giveback program in 2025 with 10% of net sales (up to $20,000) of the BIC Ferocity Clic Gel Pen being donated to the same local United Way chapters. Distributors will no longer need to reference a special code for their purchase to make a positive impact.
