Campus Ink Enters Partnership with Illinois Basketball Player
Campus Ink signs a deal with Brandin Podziemski after recently launching its NIL (Name Image Likeness) Merch Management program
Campus Ink announces its partnership with incoming four-star Illinois guard Brandin Podziemski. Beginning July 1, the NCAA adopted the name, image, and likeness (NIL) policy, allowing players to use their identity for promotional purposes.
The partnership also comes after Campus Ink recently launched its NIL (Name Image Likeness) Merch Management program connecting NCAA student-athletes with Campus Ink student designers to help build their personal brands, connect with their fanbase, and allow them the opportunity to monetize.
“Because of Campus Ink’s interest in eCommerce, fulfillment, and brand management, the transition to working with a college athlete is not a major transition. Companies looking to get started need to make sure they have a strong infrastructure to enhance the brand of their clients. This ranges from client management, marketing materials, e-mail marketing, fulfillment, and customer service,” Campus Ink co-owner Steven Farag tells GRAPHICS PRO. “When you take on an athlete and their fulfillment, it is your responsibility to uphold their brand. Don’t take that lightly!”
Podziemski and his father, John, made the trip from Wisconsin to Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, to tour Campus Ink’s two locations. The visit allowed Podziemski to gain insight into operational standards, branding procedures, and the consumer experience.
Farag adds, “The opportunity to partner with Brandin and promote his brand at the highest level is a dream come true. Being able to work alongside his talent and collaborate on unique initiatives will be fulfilling for everyone involved.”
The first merch release features Podziemski’s replica high school jersey, with $10 of each one sold going to the basketball program at his high school alma mater, St. John’s Northwestern Academies in Delafield, Wisconsin.
Since 1947, Campus Ink has been a part of the Champaign-Urbana community. As a licensed printer for the University of Illinois, Campus Ink collaborates with academic personnel and athletic departments on creative designs and brand management.
