Featured Project: PUREBLIND Wraps Colorado BBQ Van

According to a 2020 survey from the Out of Home Advertising Association of America, dining in at restaurants tops the list of activities consumers have missed most during the pandemic. Rather than stick to standard marketing strategies, small business owners can use these insights and shift their marketing efforts to ensure brand recognition. One way to do this is through creative vehicle graphics displaying a logo, contact information, and a standout design.

Paul Dioguardi, the owner of Colorado-based Hickory House Ribs, recently updated his marketing efforts for his restaurant to include wrapping its catering van. He looked to PUREBLIND Wraps & Graphics, a shop that specializes in vehicle wraps and fleet graphics, for his van transformation.

To give the van a fresh look, Kyle Perfetto of PUREBLIND worked with Wrapmate to complete the process, used 3M IJ180CV3 with 8518 laminate, and says the materials and printers used for the project helped create a vibrant look.

“For the material, we understand Colorado has one of the harshest suns in the U.S. That might not matter in year one of the wrap but makes a huge difference in year three to five,” Perfetto explains. “We want companies to come back with the mindset that our wraps increased business so much so that they had to add more vehicles to their fleet. Not because our wrap lasted two years, and they need a new wrap for the vehicle we already did once.”

When asked about the process, he explains, “There is a ‘dance’ between the designer and installer in regards to where certain designs will lay and how the installers apply the graphics. Important things like properly extending designs around corners near the front and rear taillights take a ton of communication.”

For Dioguardi, shaking up his marketing efforts to include vehicle graphics had an immediate return. He says, “While working takeout people drove by and said, ‘I saw the van, I called the number, I need a takeout order for tonight. Just having this van parked out front drove that sale.”
