Make sure you have a reliable heat press that heats evenly in all areas of the platen. If the temperature fluctuates too much or if there are cool spots you will get inconsistent results. If the press has cold spots or the platen is uneven, the color will not transfer evenly. This means the color may be darker in some areas and lighter in others. Investing in a good, reliable heat press is key. If a press needs to be replaced within a year, it ends up costing more not only in dollars but also in the time spent trying to fix the problem. Initially, a quality press may seem expensive, but it should last 15 to 20 years. It’s an investment!
