Pukka supports Surfers for Autism
Pukka provided headwear for participants & volunteers at the nonprofit's 16th annual Cocoa Beach Surf Festival.
Pukka partnered with Surfers for Autism to provide hats for every participant and volunteer at the nonprofit’s 16th Annual Cocoa Beach Surf Festival, bringing custom headwear to an event centered on inclusion, community, and shared experiences.
The festival, Surfers for Autism’s largest event of the year, welcomed well over 200 participants and hundreds of volunteers for a day of surfing and activities designed for children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities.
For Pukka, the partnership demonstrates how headwear can become more than event merchandise. Each hat provided participants and volunteers with a shared piece of the experience and a lasting reminder of the community surrounding the event.
“The best headwear represents something bigger than a logo,” said Jessica Burkin, vice president and general manager of Pukka. “It can represent belonging, shared experiences, and the memories connected to them. Surfers for Autism has created an incredible community, and we’re proud to play a small part in an event that means so much to its participants, volunteers and families.”
Surfers for Autism creates safe, supportive opportunities for children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities to experience surfing while bringing families, surfers, therapists and volunteers together through its events.
What began as a grassroots effort has grown into a Florida nonprofit offering free surf festivals and chapter events focused on creating positive experiences on and off the water.
By outfitting both participants and volunteers, Pukka helped create a visible connection across the event while recognizing the individuals who make the festival possible. The partnership reflects the belief at Pukka that custom headwear can carry meaning beyond branding, becoming part of the experiences and communities it represents.
