ORAFOL Europe GmbH, the corporate headquarters of the global manufacturer of specialty tapes, films and adhesives, announces its acquisition of Lake Orion, Michigan-based Kay Automotive Graphics, which manufactures graphics for the automotive industry.

The sale includes Kay’s sister companies Kay Premium Marking Films, which has its manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and the U.K., and Kay Graphicas Automotrices in Mexico. According to ORAFOL, the combined portfolio of products will further strengthen its position in the solid-color wrap market while enhancing its presence in the OEM automotive market.

“Kay’s reputation as a provider of high-quality durable materials is undisputed and I’m excited to welcome them into the ORAFOL Group,” says Dr. Holger Loclair, managing director of ORAFOL Europe GmbH. “Their production capacities and market expertise will result in increased efficiencies and know-how while expanding our market share.”

Joe Kay, owner of Kay Automotive Graphics, adds, “Along with our current and past employees, I have dedicated the last 50 years of my life to making our companies stand out and surpass others. I am extraordinarily pleased about this transaction and look forward to the successful integration of expertise and resources.”

Kay Automotive Graphics and their KPMF subsidiaries will continue to operate under their respective names as wholly-owned subsidiaries of ORAFOL International Inc.
