AAG, Herculite Products, SanMar, and Vantage Apparel announce personnel changes

AAG, a Canada-based routing and CNC company, announces the promotion of Benjie Massara to North American WARDJet sales manager. Massara has been with WARDJet for 10 years. In that time, he has held several positions, including product manager for WARDJet products and business development manager and several other marketing and sales roles prior.

AAG remarks, “With Massara’s knowledge of WARDJet products and his previous experience, he will be an asset to the sales team and our customers as well.”

Herculite Products Inc., a manufacturer of performance and custom fabrics, promotes Paul Flaherty and Marco Angelone.

Paul Flaherty is promoted to the newly created position of chief strategy officer. In this role, Flaherty is responsible for developing and implementing the company’s long-range strategic initiatives. Flaherty is a CPA who earned his bachelor’s degree from Duquesne University and his master’s degree from Mount St Mary’s University. He has been with Herculite for 10 years serving as the chief financial officer. Before Herculite, he served as the CFO of several local companies.

Marco Angelone is promoted to the role of chief financial officer to fill Flaherty’s vacancy. Angelone is a CPA who earned his bachelor’s degree from Kutztown University. He has been with Herculite for two years in his role as controller. Before Herculite, he spent six years at RKL as the audit manager.

Both positions report to President/CEO Peter McKernan. The company says, “Marco and Paul will continue to provide leadership and strategic vision to Herculite as we continue to invest and expand our operations and capabilities to better serve our customer-partners.”

SanMar Corporation, a national wholesale apparel and accessories supplier, appoints Steve Cuthbert as its vice president of sales.

Cuthbert’s career in the outdoor textile industry spans 25 years. Most recently, he served as vice president of sales for The North Face. In the eight years at the company, Cuthbert bolstered the brand and built strong relationships with suppliers and retailers across the industry. Before that, he spent 15 years with Polartec, where he served as director of sales. It was in that role that Cuthbert first connected with SanMar, which left a lasting impression.

“I’ve accomplished a lot in my career, but there aren’t many times when you can do something different with a company that you admire,” says Cuthbert. “I am so excited for this opportunity — to be a part of such a strong team and to be the best resource possible to continue the success they have had.”

“My experience working with Steve has been that he puts partnerships and relationships first, has a very optimistic outlook, and has a track record of success that aligns with SanMar’s culture,” remarks Jeremy Lott, president of SanMar. “We welcome his thoughtful perspective and know he will confidently lead our sales team during this pivotal time.”

Vantage Apparel, a source for branded apparel and fulfillment, adds Josh Appelbaum as its vice president of digital transformation.

In the role, Appelbaum is responsible for working cross-functionally to bring strategic insight and operations expertise to branded apparel, on-demand decoration, and e-commerce services, a channel he has excelled in for the last 11 years in the industry.

“Having Josh join our team will allow us to realize our ambitions even faster,” says Rob Watson, Vantage’s chief experience officer. “As we look to reimagine solutions that offer efficient, top-quality programs in decorated apparel to our customers, Josh’s expertise in sales and technology leadership will help us deliver on that promise.”
