NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C.-Vapor Apparel earns the Seal of Recommendation from The Skin Cancer Foundation for its Solar line of long-sleeved shirts. The recommendation classifies the shirt as an effective UV protectant.
“We are extremely pleased to be making this announcement,” says Brandon Barber, director of manufacturing at Vapor Apparel. “Our customers in North America and Europe have another reason to recommend our products to their most discerning clients.”
To meet criteria for the Seal of Recommendation, The Skin Cancer Foundation requires manufacturers to provide scientific data that proves its product sufficiently aids in the prevention of sun-induced damage to the skin. The foundation grants its seal based on specific criteria and standards for each category of product.
“Clothing is the first line of defense against the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays and an important part of a complete sun protection regimen,” says foundation president Deborah S. Sarnoff, M.D. “We’re happy to welcome another great clothing brand to the Seal of Recommendation program, our flagship consumer education initiative.”
The recommendation marks the latest recognition for Vapor Apparel. In May 2017, the company made the South Carolina Department of Commerce’s list of top businesses in the state.
