BOLINGBROOK, Ill.-S&S Activewear expands its nationwide reach with a new warehouse in the greater Atlanta area. The new facility coincides with the company’s 30th anniversary.

The 505,000-square-foot location brings S&S’s total operating space to 3 million square feet nationwide. The company operates additional facilities in New Jersey, Kansas, Illinois, Texas, and California.

“The Atlanta facility marks critical progress in S&S’s nationwide expansion,” says Frank Myers, chief operating officer of S&S Activewear. “The strategic location and sophistication of the new facility will allow us to provide our industry’s best service and product to our customers in the Southeast.”

The new warehouse is in McDonough, Georgia and boasts multiple features in energy-saving technology such as high-efficiency lighting and solar panels. S&S projects the facility to go fully operational in the second quarter of 2018. The company also says the new facility provides one-day shipping to Southeastern states including Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida.

“Our number one goal at S&S is to develop partnerships with our customers,” says Jim Shannon, president of S&S. “We dedicate our operations to learning more about who our customers are and what they need, so we can fulfill their best interests.”

In addition to a larger overall warehouse capacity for the company, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that the expansion grows the local workforce. According to the paper, the Georgia Department of Economic Development estimates a total of 300 new jobs over the next four years in the region.

The new facility is the latest location in the company’s continued expansion. The company recently opened a warehouse in Fort Worth, Texas, widening one-day shipping options for states like Oklahoma and Arkansas.
