Randy Deutsch Retires from JDS Industries after 25 Years

When Deutsch started with the company it had just opened its second warehouse. Today the company has 14.

deutsch_275Randy Deutsch, a warehouse operations manager at Sioux Falls, South Dakota-based JDS Industries, a supplier of components to the sublimation, awards, and gifts and promotion markets, is retiring after 25 years of working for the company. When he turned 65 in July, he decided it was time to start the next chapter in his life.

Deutsch has been with JDS Industries through years of growth and change, he says. When he first started in 1993, the second warehouse had just opened-now there are 14. Through his job, he was able to travel and help operate the distribution centers across the country. He adds that “travel gave me an opportunity I would not have ever had to see our great country, experience the many different areas we have from sea to sea, and to experience the many diverse cultures we have. I learned a great deal about the people we have in our nation.”

When asked what he will miss most about working for JDS, he says, “It will be the people associated with the company. Being a family-owned company still affords JDS Industries the opportunity to create that ‘family-friendly’ atmosphere. Everyone has a face and a name rather than just an employee number.”

The greatest thing Deutsch learned while working for JDS Industries is “the power of the culture created here at JDS. That power is the culture of ‘how may I help you’ attitudes, whether that be to one another or to the customers. That culture feeds right into what the customers crave, and that is good old-fashioned service.”

Deutsch’s last day was on Friday, January 4th. The company celebrated his time at JDS with an internal ceremony.
