WASHINGTON-President Trump announces that the U.S. plans to delay the latest tariff increases on Chinese imports. Instead of the levies being effective Oct. 1, the President pushed them out to Oct. 15.

The news comes after a 15% U.S. tariff went into effect on Sept. 1 for $112 billion of Chinese imports.

In a two-part tweet, Trump says the decision is a gesture of goodwill, as China celebrates its 70th anniversary on Oct. 1.
