Avon Lake, Ohio-based PolyOne Corp. announces two internal executive appointments. The company names Mark Crist as president of color, additives and ink, and J. Scott Horn Jr. as president of PolyOne Distribution. Crist replaces retiring division president John Van Hulle.

Crist’s time with PolyOne dates back to 2008 when he served as global commercial director for the organization’s Geon business. Since 2008, Crist has held multiple positions at the company including vice president, key account manager and vice president of PolyOne Asia. Prior to his time with PolyOne, Crist worked for 20 years with the Nalco Chemical Company in various capacities including sales, marketing and management.

“Mark’s broad global experience; and the success he’s achieved in each of his roles while at PolyOne, make him the ideal person to lead our color business to the next level,” says Robert Patterson, PolyOne’s CEO. “He’s a trusted leader with our employees and an innovative, valued collaborator with our customers and suppliers.”

Horn succeeds Crist in PolyOne Distribution and comes to the role with 36 years of experience in the chemical distribution industry. Filling leadership positions at multiple companies since 1981, Horn has served in various roles, including general manager spots at PolyOne since 2000.

“Few people have the combined credibility, vast experience, and strong relationships in polymer distribution as Scott Horn,” Patterson says. “He has been a consistent driving force behind our distribution business success since PolyOne was created.”
