North Carolina-based Piedmont Plastics, a wholesale plastic sheet, rod, tube and film stock shapes distributor, says it has earned three specific awards in September and October for its sustainability and business practices.

The awards included the Education Circle of Champions Award from the International Association of Plastics Distribution, the IAPD’s Environmental Excellence Award and the Sustainability Recognition Award from the SGIA. According to the company, the awards show its dedication to the environment and education in the plastics industry.

Some of the initiatives undertaken by the company include the formation of a Green Team, a company-wide team focused on finding ways to reduce waste and energy use. Piedmont also has Natural Solutions, a plastic product made with recycled content, and the Plastics Reclamation Program, which allows customers to recycle their used and plastic waste items.

Piedmont Plastics says it plans to continue its focus on environmental excellence and team education in the future, while still providing superior customer service and reducing the plastic industry’s environmental impact.
