OKI Europe-the EU branch of global print equipment manufacturer OKI Data-is holding a car wrap design contest in Europe it’s calling “Print My Ride,” which begins on Oct. 11.

Entrants to the contest will be able to go to the company’s contest website,, and upload their artwork and apply it to a virtual car-rotating it to get a 3D view to experience it from all angles before submitting their online design photos to be judged by an expert panel.

Winners will be chosen from six categories: overall design winner; best overall visual design based on the use of color and style; best use of the OKI ColorPainter’s capabilities based on technical application; best professional creative design; best design from an educational establishment; and “wild card,” which will be given to the wrap that garners the most attention on social media.

All the winning designers will receive prizes including a 1:18 scale-model car wrapped in their artwork and an all-expenses-paid VIP trip for two to a Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship event. The overall design winner will also receive a 50 percent discount voucher, redeemable on an OKI hardware product of their choice.

Along with the contest, OKI will be supplying a brand-new wrap for Dunlop MSA Touring Car Championship driver Mat Jackson‘s car, printed on a new OKI ColorPainter wide-format printer. The wrap will cover the entire car-a first in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championships.

The contest and the race car wrap are being done in conjunction with The Print Show, being held in Birmingham, England.
