ROSELLE, Ill.-The M&R Companies provides equipment and support for the 53rd annual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC). The conference takes place in Louisville, Kentucky on June 19-23.
The NLSC describes the annual event as “a showcase of career and technical education students.” The organization estimates a crowd of more than 16,000 people, including students, teachers, and business partners to participate in the event. During the event, more than 6,000 students will compete in a series of hands-on trade, technical, and leadership challenges.
M&R provides multiple pieces of equipment for the conference, including two 4-station/6-color Sidewinder manual presses, an Economax D electric infrared dryer, a Blu-Flash infrared flash cure unit, a light-safe tent for screen exposures, and two Starlight UV LED screen exposure systems.
“SkillsUSA plays an important role in helping students prepare for careers in the garment-decorating industry, and we’re honored to have been asked to participate,” says Rich Hoffman, CEO of M&R. “To remain competitive in the global marketplace, America needs a highly skilled workforce, and SkillsUSA is committed to that effort.”
The screen-printing contests feature two divisions; high school/vocational school and college/technical school. Multiple Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) supplier members, including M&R, have donated more than $40,000 in prizes for the event.
