Mimaki Europe B.V., the European division of Japan-based printer company Mimaki, announces the formation of a joint venture company with Italian company BOMPAN. The company is an exclusive partner of Mimaki Europe for print/cut equipment sales, and technical and maintenance services. BOMPAN also carries spare parts and consumables supplies for Mimaki equipment.

“[BOMPAN] has established a strong relationship of trust with our group company through a business relationship over many years,” Mimaki says in a press announcement. “At this time, we intend to establish a joint venture company with BOMPAN in order to expand sales of products for the textile and apparel market, primarily in EU member countries.”

Mimaki says it will maintain the majority of the capital structure and directors for the joint company, and lead development of the new venture. The organization estimates business for the joint venture company to officially start in July 2017.

The announcement comes as Mimaki Europe’s latest move to expand in the European market. In the fall of 2016, the company acquired La Meccanica, a digital textile printing manufacturer also based in Italy.
