Itasca, Illinois-based Leister Technologies, a global manufacturer and distributor of plastics and textiles used in a wide variety of industries, such as banner and sign making, announces an investment of nearly $26 million-about 25 million Swiss francs-into the expansion of its production facility in Sarnen, Switzerland.

Ground was broken in December during a ceremony witnessed by the nearly 500 employees of the site. Work is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2019.

Local politicians attended the ceremony, at which they praised the company for its investment and touted the groundbreaking as indicative of how business is thriving in that region.

The company says it is expanding that facility due to increased demand globally for its products. It is also updating internal processes and workflows in order to optimize efficiency and reduce production costs.
