Laguna Tools Completes Acquisition of Metalworking Company Dake Corp.

Given its lengthy history, the purchase of Dake Corp. instantly gives Laguna Tools a strong presence in the metalworking world.

laguna_275x275Irvine, California-based CNC router manufacturer Laguna Tools Inc. announces it has completed the acquisition of Grand Haven, Michigan-based Dake Corp. from its parent company, JSJ Corp.

Dake Corp. is a metalworking company specializing in presses, bandsaws, and other machine tools. In line with Laguna Tools’ growth strategy, the company says the acquisition of Dake will provide it with a solid and diverse platform for the continued development of its metalworking line of products and offerings.

“The acquisition of Dake Corp. will build upon Laguna’s presence and market share in the metalworking space,” says Laguna’s CEO, Stephen Stoppenbrink. “Dake Corp. has skillfully built its brand, and by combining forces we will take it to the next level.

“We continue to be impressed by the dedication, loyalty, and skill across the board with the Dake team-we are excited and eager to see what we will all accomplish together.”

Dake Corp. has been in business for more than 130 years, and it’s the second acquisition for Laguna in the past two years. In September 2017, the company bought SuperMax, a manufacturer and distributor of sanding/finishing equipment for the woodworking and metalworking industries, successfully growing it multiple times over.

Laguna Tools is headquartered in Irvine and also has another of its main facilities in West Columbia, South Carolina. It will be substantially expanding its operations into a third facility in Dallas, scheduled to open in February 2020.  Laguna also has a location in Minnesota, and now Michigan with the acquisition of Dake Corp.
