WEBBERVILLE, Mich.-College and high school sportswear distributor J. America announces the recapitalization of the company through a partnership with Blue Point Capital Partners. The Cleveland-based equity firm counts the buyout of J. America as its third middle-market buyout fund.

“J. America has been on a rapid growth path, doubling revenues to over $100 million in the past five years,” says Jeff Fenech, co-founder of J. America. “Blue Point’s strategic focus, e-commerce expertise, and access to significant resources both in the U.S. and in Asia will further enhance our ability to provide industry-leading designs in apparel and headwear to our customers.”

This development is the latest major change for J. America. Recently, the apparel distributor became the exclusive non-sideline supplier for Ohio State University’s licensed sportswear.

The original company founders Jeff Fenech, Jeff Radaway, and Peter Ruhala will continue to run J. America with a significant stake in the company.
