Chicago-based specialty substrates provider GPA got into the holiday spirit this season by giving back to its community through a variety of charitable organizations.

The company continued its tradition of participating in the U.S. MarinesToys for Tots program, hosting a toy drive to help that service branch provide toys to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas.

That was one of two toy drives GPA hosted at its corporate headquarters in the Windy City. The other was for the Orange Crush Motorcycle Club‘s drive for the children of its local park district. GPA employee Nick Soto was instrumental in helping coordinate that for the company.

Employees from the company’s western regional headquarters in Santa Fe Springs, California, participated in the Adopt-A-Family Program, which this year provided 430 struggling families in the Los Angeles area with gifts for the whole family. GPA’s employees “adopted” two families for the holidays, and banded together to collect everything from household items to gifts to help spread cheer for the holidays and the months to come.

“To me, Christmas is all about the children,” says Gina Wilczewski, GPA’s human resources coordinator. “I love participating in GPA’s toy drive because nothing fills my heart more than the look on their faces and how their eyes light up when they receive a special holiday gift.”
