Giving Back: Visix Renews its Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive

2019 was the fourth year that Visix has done this annual holiday drive for a local family assistance agency.

Atlanta-based Visix, which designs and develops digital signage software and other products, recently held a food drive at its headquarters to benefit the Norcross Cooperative Ministry, a faith-based, emergency family assistance agency located in the Atlanta suburb of Norcross.

According to Christy Greer, Visix’s chief financial officer and the point person for the effort, Visix kicked off the food drive with a donation of 30-40 items that it purchased, then employees collected donations over a three-week period. The company used its own digital signage platform, located throughout its building, to remind employees to participate.

In all, nearly 400 food items were donated to the Norcross Co-Op, Greer says. All of the collection and delivery of the items came in time for Norcross to distribute them at Thanksgiving.

Sean (Matthews, Visix’s president and CEO) and I are both residents of Gwinnett County and Sean lives in Norcross,” she says. “It is important to us to give back to the community where we live and work.”

The company has been doing the food drive since 2015, Greer says.
