MONTREAL-Gildan receives the Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility in Honduras (FUNDAHRSE) award for the 10th year in a row. Similar to last year, Gildan holds the distinction of being the only apparel company among this year’s 65 recipients.

“We are proud to have been awarded the FUNDAHRSE CSR seal once again,” says Claudia Sandoval, vice president of corporate citizenship for Central America and the Caribbean Basin at Gildan. “One of our key priorities is to ensure safe and healthy work environments for all our employees in combination with valuable benefits such as free healthcare, medication, and transportation.”

The company invests in multiple incentives for its employees in the Central American country including healthcare, education, and community programs. The company also sponsors training for students, teachers, and parents to improve the teaching-learning process in multiple schools across the Sula Valley.

Executives from Gildan accepted the award at a ceremony in San Pedro Sula, Honduras on Sept. 28.
