Mike Jackson launched his Jackson, Wyoming, sign business in 1973, and to this day treats every job like a custom job.
Jackson, Wyoming, sits in one of the loveliest ZIP codes in the United States. The town is often referred to as “Jackson Hole” but in fact, that’s the name of the valley where it’s located, right on the Wyoming-Idaho border and a stone’s throw from Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks. In that town of about 10,000 you’ll find Jackson Signs, founded by Mike Jackson in 1973. He stakes the claim on being the oldest sign company in the valley and has had to evolve over the years as the sign industry has changed. His equipment is certainly more high-tech than it was in 1973, but he says on his website that he still puts a lot of pride into each project he undertakes, whether it’s a routed or sandblasted sign or a vinyl film install on a retailer’s front window. “Plain or fancy” is his succinct way of putting it. Here’s some of the signage Mike made that you might see next time you’re passing through Jackson on the way to Yellowstone.
