The New York-based Joint Industry Board of the Electrical Industry selects Sterling, Virgina-based Mvix, which makes digital signage, video walls and interactive displays, to improve its visual communications with the clientele it serves.
The JIBEI was founded in 1943 by members of New York’s electrical workers labor union and the electrical contracting industry. Its goals are to build goodwill within the electrical industry and address labor management issues for electrical workers and contractors.
The organization has two locations in New York City-Long Island and Queens-that serve two different audiences: students and visitors, respectively. It sought a digital signage solution that would serve both constituencies through one platform, and for that it chose Mvix.
At the Long Island center, where they offer continuing education classes and weekend seminars, JIBEI needed a welcome display in the lobby, a message board in the lounge and a menu board in the cafeteria. The screens would display class listings and seminar agendas in addition to announcements and dynamic menus.
At the Queens headquarters, JIBEI needed a network of screens to showcase projects they’ve worked on, including the Empire State Building and the World Trade Center, as well as highlight important milestones and display member, executive, and partner spotlights.
Both facilities had to be on the same digital signage network, with the ability to control any of the individual screens from one central login.
Mvix worked with its AV partner, Farmingdale, New York-based Adwar Video, to network 29 digital signage systems throughout the two facilities. The digital signage network is integrated with JIBEI’s existing AV network, which allows it to display automated event listings for seminars and classes and company-wide events such as board meetings, member appreciation events and award ceremonies; digital information cards highlighting their projects; 4K video of their members, executives and partners; traffic information for students and visitors; and dynamic cafeteria menus.
The entire network’s programming is controlled from JIBEI’s Queens location.
