Featured Project: Luxury Jeweler Birks Taps iGotcha Media for its Videowalls

The challenge in this case, says iGotcha Media president Greg Adelstein, was to have its displays match the elegance of the retailer and the locations.

Full-service digital signage company iGotcha Media, with locations in Montreal and Toronto, was tapped by luxury Canadian jewelry store chain Birks to install customized digital signage into its store locations in Montreal and Toronto.

Birks had iGotcha install videowalls that it believes will enrich the in-store experience for its customers by presenting dynamic designs that subtly underscore its brand. The two videowalls in the Montreal location-Birks’ flagship store-feature LG 88″ stretch screens, with custom-built enclosures designed to complement the elegance of that heritage location. At the Toronto location, which is at First Canadian Place, one of the country’s premiere retail destinations in the heart of the city’s financial district, a massive 4-meter x 2.1-meter screen (approximately 13′ x 7½’) was installed.

“For us, the challenge was to create something innovative and modern while respecting the essence of the Birks brand,” says Greg Adelstein, president of iGotcha Media. “Our videowalls must seamlessly run content in the standard 16:9 LCD format, but the aesthetics needed to be anything but standard! Thinking of the Philips’ Square (Montreal) store, we had to blend state-of-the-art technology with the elegance of a 19th century heritage building.”
