Seoul, South Korea-based LG Electronics Business Solutions announces the installation of a large video wall inside the headquarters of Austin, Texas-based Bazaarvoice.
Bazaarvoice describes itself as “the world’s largest shopper network” that connects brands and retailers to actual people within its network using various data collection methods.
According to LG, the company wanted a digital signage solution “that would serve as both a visual statement and a dashboard of performance, providing guests real- time, dynamic visual updates on company news and wayfinding information, in addition to displaying relevant marketing materials.”
As the company was remodeling its lobby, it decided that having a compelling visual display that could convey information to employees, visitors and clients would serve as a centerpiece. It would need to display graphics and data sets, wayfinding information, corporate updates, news and weather reports, etc., in dynamic fashion and should make the information visible even at a distance.
Working with Austin-based Felix Media Solutions, an audio, video and technology integrator, Bazaarvoice settled on a plan: a 3-meter x 3-meter display-nearly 10′ x 10′-using nine 55-inch display panels. Felix Media then researched the market and found that LG was able to satisfy the requirements needed for the project at a price that was nearly 25 percent less than its competitors.
Using LG also brought the company’s proprietary In-Plane Switching (IPS) technology, which helps ensure accurate color saturation and contrast at wide viewing angles.
LG says the narrow bezel-to-bezel width of the screens it installed (each screen is separated by less than 0.14 inches, or 3.5 millimeters) enabled the seamless connectivity Bazaarvoice was looking for.
Since the video wall’s installation, Bazaarvoice says the feedback has been extremely positive both from employees and visitors.
“We were attracted to the ability to balance color through the LG 55-inch video wall displays, the thinness of the bezels and, of course, the ease in which content can be managed through the displays,” says Lionel Felix, president of Felix Media Solutions.
According to the announcement of the installation, Felix Media and Bazaarvoice were so pleased with the picture quality and functionality of the LG video wall that they also opted to install more than 90 65-inch LG “Commercial Lite” displays in the company’s conference rooms to be used for video conferencing.
“The LG video wall is the first thing you see when entering the Bazaarvoice headquarters,” says Trey Linney, senior systems engineer at Bazaarvoice. “It was imperative to choose displays for the task at hand, and above all, the right partner for maintaining a high-quality experience while meeting our budgetary requirements. LG was able to do all of this and more, exceeding our expectations.”
