New York-based Intersection, which provides digital displays to transportation hubs in cities across the country, announces that it has teamed up with NJ TRANSIT to bring the company’s IxNTouch interactive information kiosks to customers in select rail and light rail station platforms, mezzanines and waiting rooms across the New Jersey transit system.
The IxNTouch digital kiosks provide wayfinding and real-time system information for riders. According to the company, more than 50,000 customers served by Hoboken, Newark Penn, Newport Light Rail, and Harborside Light Rail stations each day now have access to real-time transit information, wayfinding, and maps to help ease their commutes. These upgrades come at no cost to NJ TRANSIT or riders because they are supported by dynamic advertising on the IxNTouch displays.
“By listening to our customers, we know that receiving information is one of their top priorities,” says Kevin Corbett, executive director of NJ TRANSIT. “These digital displays are an added tool that will enable customers to quickly learn the current service status for their particular trip as well as their travel options for rail and light rail.
