Denco CEO Receives Distinguished Service Award

Ken Von Wald, the president and CEO of Denver-based distributor Denco Sales, recently received the Kirk L. Brimley Distinguished Service Award for his contributions to the sign, graphics and visual communications industry.

The award was presented at the recent International Sign Association convention in Las Vegas. Von Wald is a former board chairman of that organization, was well as having served on numerous of its committees. He continues to be an active presence and advisor with the group.

Von Wald is also a former board chairman of the Sign Research Foundation and the National Association of Sign Supply Distributors.

According to a press release announcing the award, during his tenure as chairman with each of the organizations, his time “was marked by significant restructuring and realignment, which allowed each to grow significantly while enhancing contributions to the broader industry.”

In his remarks upon receiving the award, Von Wald noted that serving in volunteer capacities for organizations such as the ISA, SRF and NASSD was an investment of time, but one that continues to pay off in his own professional development.
