Brookings, South Dakota-based Daktronics, a manufacturer of EMC and electronic display systems of all types, announces that the company has partnered with Futurad, a digital signage company based in Panama, on installing what the company says is the largest commercial video display ever in Latin America.

The 595-square-meter display – approximately 1,952 square feet – measures 35 meters high by 17 meters wide and features a 15HD-pixel layout. It went up along the Corredor Sur, a freeway that directs traffic to the Tocumen International Airport in Panama City.

This is the fourth Daktronics installation for Futurad, which was founded in 1977.

“When we first had the idea of installing a LED Billboard of this size it was not only a challenge to find a location but as well to find a company that could provide us with the best solution possible, but in Daktronics we found this,” says Iván Vallarino Jr., Futurad’s president. “We are very excited to finally turn on this dream of ours that will without a doubt become a landmark in the region.”
