Sioux Falls, South Dakota-based JDS Industries, a supplier of components to the awards, gifts and promotion and sublimation markets, announces that Mike May, chief operations officer for the past decade and a 25-year veteran of the company, has become a part owner.

“(May) has had a large impact on JDS Industries and has played a crucial role in building the company to the level of success that it enjoys today,” says JDS President and CEO Scott Sletten, adding that May will be the first non-family member to have ownership in the company, which has been fully-owned by the Sletten family since JDS was founded in 1990.

“Allowing Mike May to buy a portion of JDS Industries will help ensure the future of the company,” Sletten says. “I continue to be excited by the many opportunities in front of us as we continue to grow and diversify JDS.”

He adds that May’s part ownership of JDS will not affect operations of the company in any way; May will continue as chief operations officers and Sletten will remain president and CEO.
