Within the agreement, the Champion brand serves as the league’s uniform provider.

Although the apparel brand has not been involved with the NBA since the early 2000s, the new partnership has Champion providing apparel for all 21 teams in the league. Merchandise is available online and in Champion stores across the U.S. Apparel options include warm-up, travel, and practice apparel.

The director of Champion brand marketing David Robertson told The Esports Observer, “Here in 2019, in this connected world that we’re in, we see teams evolving and teams really changing. And there are all different kinds of teams now. And we love how esports is this new expression of what team means today.”

For Champion, this agreement is a way to get back into the NBA. “We have an incredible history and authentic heritage linked to the NBA. But really NBA 2K is how we see it come to life with the NBA today,” Robertson added.

For its 100th anniversary, the apparel brand plans to feature products from past and present sports partnerships, including the promotion of 2K League.
