DALLAS-BSN SPORTS, a sporting goods distributor for the school and league markets and a division of Varsity Brands, announces the finalization of the acquisition of the team division of Janor Sports (“Janor Team”), based in Naperville, Illinois.

In a BSN SPORTS press release, company president Terry Babilla says, “We look forward to a seamless and uninterrupted transition and to a bright future together.”

The founder and president of Janor, Rich Janor, says Janor’s team sports business will be in capable hands. Janor has served the suburban Chicago community for more than 12 years. And although Rich says it has been an “enjoyable and rewarding endeavor,” the company is ready to put its focus on building its events and media company. “This is a big win for everyone involved,” he adds.

Babilla says the new year has brought “growth and expanded opportunities for our stakeholders and customers.” With the acquisition of Janor Sports, BSN adds more than 200 professionals in the last 12 months, including teams in Missouri, Michigan, Colorado, Florida, New York, Texas, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Alabama, Georgia, Washington, Utah, Kentucky, and Illinois. He adds, “We will continue to seek out partners that share our values and have a passion for building lifelong customer relationships.”

The news comes days after the company announced its acquisition of the team division of Johnny Mac’s.
