Los Gatos, California-based digital signage media player manufacturer BrightSign announces that its LS, XD and XT media players are now fully compatible with Revel Digital‘s next-generation digital signage and media distribution platform.

According to BrightSign, Revel Digital’s web-based user interface makes it easy to manage a near-limitless range of endpoints, including kiosks, digital menu boards, point-of-sale devices, video walls, beacons and more. The company’s tools deliver the best possible experience for both digital signage providers and end-users, BrightSign says.

“Our customers often ask if they can run Revel Digital on our players, so we’re keenly aware of the pent-up demand for Revel/BrightSign interoperability,” says Jeff Hastings, CEO of BrightSign. “Our companies have a shared interest in delivering the best possible solutions to our customers, and the integration announced today greatly enhances the value proposition we offer our respective customers.”

Revel Digital’s has developed a patent-pending software called Smart Schedule that it says eliminates common pain-points associated with creating and managing digital signage networks. It says its rule-based scheduler takes a “natural language” approach not only to scheduling content, but also to utilizing various conditional-play triggers such as audience metrics, beacons and motion sensors. This frees the network administrator to focus on the big picture, rather than on individual devices.
