TREVOSE, Pa.-Apparel distributor alphabroder announces it will relocate a Broder Bros. warehouse in Pennsylvania. The company plans to move from the current facility in Philadelphia to Harrisburg, Pa., roughly two hours west.
Local publication the Philadelphia Inquirer cites the loss of 143 jobs with the move and says the move is slotted for October 10.
The relocation of the Pennsylvania warehouse marks the latest in a series of major changes for the company. A brand integration in late 2015 saw the addition of Bodek and Rhodes to the company’s brand lines. More recently, alphabroder announced a similar closing at a Bodek and Rhodes facility in Niles, Mich. The Niles warehouse is projected to close by late September 2016, with no plans for a new location.
