Maryland-based Almo Professional A/V, a distributor of professional audio and visual equipment, says that it has received a 2019 Top Workplace award from the Philadelphia Inquirer.

This is the sixth time that Almo has been listed in the news outlet’s annual Top Workplaces list. It received the award in the mid-size business category.

A third-generation, family-owned business with approximately 600 employees, Almo Corp. was founded in 1946 by current president and CEO Warren Chaiken‘s grandfather, and then led by his father Gene Chaiken, who is currently chairman of the board for Almo Corp.

“I am humbled and honored to receive the Top Leadership Award solely because it’s based on the responses from our employees,” says Chaiken. “This award is a reflection of our culture, a culture we’ve defined as Almo FIIT: family, integrity, innovation and teamwork.

“The Almo FIIT way of doing business is what makes us different and successful as an organization. Our priority is and always has been caring for our employees and their families-and this philosophy extends to every one of our business partners.”

“Warren has cultivated a strong yet flexible environment as President and CEO for Almo,” says Gene Chaiken. “People make companies great and Almo has great people who are living the Almo FIIT values every day. I have no doubt that the FIIT way of conducting business will expand under Warren’s leadership and that we should expect continued growth as a company and success for our industry partners as a result.”
