AATCC Launches Student Design Competition

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.-The Association of Textile, Apparel, and Materials Professionals (AATCC), launches a contest for student members with the 2017 Concept 2 Consumer Student Design Competition. The competition theme is “Everyday Clothes for Extraordinary Kids,” and challenges students to re-design apparel items for special needs children.

The AATCC also provides designers with color palette inspiration via the 2016 PANTONEVIEW Summer Color Planner. The contest is open to individual students as well as collaborative teams.

Prizes awarded include:

First place: $1,000, one Pantone Cotton Passport color guide, a $100 Spoonflower gift certificate, $100 with an award plaque from Shrimag Creations, and a Datacolor Spyder 5 monitor calibration tool.

Second place: $750, plus first place prizes.

Honorable Mentions: $100, a $50 Spoonflower gift certificate, $25 with an award plaque from Shrimag Creations, and a Datacolor Spyder 5.

The deadline for entries is April 12, 2017.
