Los Angeles-based AAA Flag & Banner, a full-service design, print and installation company, announces that it was recently recognized by the Printing Industries Association of Southern California at its annual Print Excellence Awards ceremony in early April.

The company was awarded Best of Category in the “They Said It Couldn’t Be Done” category. The company’s winning project was its transformation of the iconic Wolfsonian building’s lobby into a display of contemporary Dutch design featuring patterns from artist Christie van der Haak. The Wolfsonian-Florida International University-or The Wolfsonian-FIU, as it’s known-is located in the heart of the Art Deco District of Miami Beach, Florida. It’s a museum, library and research center that uses its collection to illustrate the persuasive power of art and design, according to its website. For fifteen years the building has been a division within Florida International University.

In order to meet the criteria to submit an entry in the PIASC’s They Said It Couldn’t Be Done category, a printer needed to exceed limitations and expectations when tackling the numerous challenges faced on the toughest jobs. AAA Flag & Banner chose to highlight their work at the Wolfsonian because it required overcoming a variety of obstacles, including inclement weather and challenging wall dimensions and textures.

“Our installation team battled wind, rain, and difficult interior and exterior elements to flawlessly overhaul the Wolfsonian,” says Craig Furst, president of AAA Flag & Banner. “This is really where our expertise and experience shines, and I couldn’t be prouder of the result, which is simply stunning.”

In order to accomplish the project, AAA Flag & Banner’s team combined the use of promo decals, art walk on the floor, show floors on the ramp, and its 3M Envision series wrap for the exterior. The final transformation will be featured through June 2017.
