Featured Project: Four Winds Interactive Installs Digital Signage at New Daimler Trucks HQ
Daimler says its main requirements were for the digital signage to inform and engage both visitors to its headquarters and employees.
Denver-based Four Winds Interactive, a provider of digital signage solutions including content management software, designed and installed a complete visual communications platform for the new headquarters of Daimler Trucks North America in Portland.
DTNA says it wanted its new 268,000-square-foot headquarters to represent the company’s spirit of innovation, and also blend nicely with the other high-tech companies that it was located near.
The company says its visual communications platform needed to be capable of delivering two unique experiences: one for visitors and the other for employees. Daimler wanted to make a statement as soon as people entered the building, a challenge considering the lobby was designed to also showcase large commercial vehicles. Four Winds Interactive’s platform delivers on both fronts, Daimler says.
The main feature of the lobby is a 59-screen, 110-foot video wall that wraps around a corner and continues to the end of the new conference center concourse. The wall is used to showcase product innovations, company history, branding information and more. The video wall’s messaging can be customized at any time of day or night.
On each of the upper floors, employees have access to interactive kiosks that provide wayfinding to offices, conference rooms and more. They also rotate through daily employee communications and display the cafeteria menu and offer access to local weather and traffic conditions. The cafeteria itself features a large screen that displays menu options, and when the cafeteria is closed the screen shifts to showing local traffic information.
