Epilog Partners with Instructables.com on Third Annual Makerspace Contest

Epilog Laser has sponsored this contest for DIY'ers each of its first three years.

Golden, Colorado-based Epilog Laser is teaming up with the project-sharing site Instructables.com-an online community that provides publishing tools for creative collaboration-for the third annual Makerspace Contest.

An Epilog Zing 24 laser engraver is part of the grand prize package valued at more than $50,000, with Dremel, Woodcraft, Ultimaker, and Digi-Key also contributing. Hosted by the project-sharing site, the contest is accepting submissions until August 31.

Epilog has sponsored the contest each of its three years.

“We love supporting the maker movement and enjoy watching it continue to grow and evolve,” says Mike Dean, vice president of sales and marketing for Epilog Laser. “I’m all for any opportunity that allows makers, tinkers, and DIY’ers to bring their designs to life, so we’re obviously thrilled to contribute to the stellar grand prize package for the 2017 Makerspace Contest.”

Last year’s winner was YuKonstruct, a makerspace located in the Yukon Territory whose team racked up 199 featured entries.

Says Cloude Porteus, director of Instructables.com: “We’re especially excited about this year’s prizes. Our partners help us empower communities to start something amazing and truly rewarding.”
