Adobe Photoshop is an ideal application for creating artwork for UV printing since it allows layering of photographic and vector elements, transparent backgrounds, and the ability to create alpha channels for spot printing of specialty inks such as gloss, primer, or white ink. Vector-based design programs, such as Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW, are also compatible with UV printing and are sometimes preferred by designers as they produce files that can be resized without losing resolution. These files are usually easier to edit.
