What are some lesser-known hard substrate options for sublimation?

Hardboard seems to be common in some shops but not in others, and aluminum is gaining traction all over. Natural wood products, such as medium-density fiberboard with a maple veneer is lesser-known and produces great results with specific images that work well with a wood grain background.
