Applications That Pair Well with Sandcarving

Sandcarving doesn’t need to just be on glass. We have found that sandcarving wood gives a beautiful distressed look that goes well with laser engraving. This is a great option for unique plaques, awards, and custom signage.

Another avenue for sandcarving is to mix it with UV-LED printing. There are stunning pieces that can be made with a multistage engraving on the back of glass, and a colorful UV print on the face of the glass. When placed in a light-up base, these pieces are works of art. One of my favorite combinations is laser engraving a stone and then sandcarving it for depth and color-fill. Using the right mask is essential; the laser quickly adds a design to stone and sandcarving allows for the traditional sandcarved look.
