Learning to use CorelDraw is vital to your success as an awards and engraving business. Creative designs will push the performance envelope of your equipment for amazing results.
Mastering the software takes time and patience. Consider some tools to help you overcome the learning curve:

  1. Take advantage of the Corel Tutor. Click on the Help menu to find the Tutor program and find step-by-step instructions on basic and advanced functions.
  2. If you are struggling with a certain technique, press F1 to find the Help area. Select the Topic button and enter the subject you need a quick review on.
  3. Set up your defaults for faster layouts. For laser engraving, set the Page Size to your laser’s bed size, then draw shapes with no fills and hairline outlines. Go to Tools, then Save Settings as Default.
  4. Create a limited color palette. Click on the Palette Editor, select New, and save the Palette for your application. For example, if you are laser engraving, save the palette as Laser. Create colors in RGB mode. Consult your equipment manual for the RGB values that correspond to each color.
