Understanding the emotional associations of green, blue and purple is a weapon that can be used to your advantage when applied properly.

Green: Among other positive meanings, freshness, health and harmony can be implied using the color green within the proper design. This is said to be a restful color for the human eye. When in the right place, the color green produces good feelings of growth and strength, perfect for specific awards.

Blue: Blue’s visual references often convey compassion, coolness and loyalty. Taken in another direction, blue can also represent sadness or a gloomy mood. It is a masculine color that can be darkened for more conservative associations, or brightened, reminding people of water in the Caribbean islands.

Purple: Surprisingly, purple is among the favorite colors of children. Tones in lavender can work well for more feminine-targeted design. Romantic undertones are implied within the appropriate topic when using lighter versions of purple. Purple can be often seen within fantasy stories and design. In history books, purple is always associated with royalty. It signified wealth, ambition and wisdom. Too dark a purple hue can evoke feelings of sadness in a design. This hue has become more accepted by viewers in recent years. Purple is considered to be a color of individuality and creativity, mainly because it wasn’t a popular color in the past.
