Purchasing Used Laser Equipment
When looking into used equipment, you'll want to ask about this.
The single most expensive component of a laser system is the laser source. When was the last time the laser source was replaced? That would be the first question I would ask regarding a used laser system.
If the laser source was replaced recently, then it’s probably a good value. But if it was never replaced or a laser source was replaced over three years ago, then it’s probably going to be due for a new laser source. A new laser source could be anywhere from a $1,000 to $1,800.
