Pricing Pointers for Marked Metal Products

There is no simple formula to pricing laser markable metals

As you’d expect, there is no simple formula to pricing laser markable metals. Certainly, given the higher perceived value, you would position a real metal award as higher priced than the same part made on a plastic substrate. As a rule of thumb, industrial products like barcodes should be marked up between four to six times the amount of material cost (of course, depending upon your labor rates/contribution).

All that said, the easiest way to get started is to purchase a trial pack and start making some samples to show your customers. Before you know it, you’ll have a niche product line that delivers greater perceived value to your customers!
