Prevent Fading on Sublimated Products

Does your sublimation have a tendency to fade?

Pressure is usually the key to avoid sublimation that fades. A longer press time helps, but lightness in areas means a contact-pressure issue. Interestingly, sublimation technically doesn’t need much pressure – just immediate proximity against the receiving surface – but in practical experience, a firm contact with the material guarantees better transfer of the image to the material. This means having a flat and even heat platen and quality silicone base padding on the bottom table. Some soft and sensitive materials do not react well to higher pressure, so there must be a guarantee to even uniform contact everywhere. That is best resolved with quality USA-made equipment to ensure quality results.
