Keeping Up Business Volume During the Summer Months

School has ended, organized sports have finished their season, people are on vacation, and the world winds down. What is there left to do?

The biggest challenge for many awards and recognition businesses during the summer is business volume. School has ended, organized sports have finished their season, people are on vacation, and the world winds down. The business you can target is events. Businesses have summer picnics with sporting events and employee recognition.

Nonprofits, for example, may change their board of directors at the end of June. They also may have fundraising events such as golf tournaments, chili cook-offs, and car shows. There are also adult semi-professional and professional sports centered around autos and motorcycles. There are often numerous categories of winners receiving trophies. Events can help fill some of the down time the summer months usually bring.

Don’t forget to use some of your down time for equipment maintenance, thinning the old inventory, and cleaning up your shop. It’s a good time to go through the shop and discard things you won’t use, spruce up your showroom, and replace old samples and those that are scratched or broken. All of these things are essential measures to prepare your business for the post-Labor Day rush.
