Grunge texture effects have become commonly used on photographs, team artwork, or even signage to create a design effect. At one time, it was complicated, but now it can be easy to add textures and effects in Adobe Photoshop for use on a smooth sublimatable product. You can add textures to some of your designs or offer a custom effect to be used on your sublimation products. Give a school sport team an edgier look; create a unique ChromaLuxe photo panel, or just the right look on a series of promotional products.
When working with textures, consider building a small library to give you the most flexibility while working. Aim for a variation of textures, ranging from bricks to wood to liquid and metal to get the most mileage and create a unique look. A lot of the preconceived challenges of working with textures are discovered through experimentation with the files. Once you become more familiar with your textures and the effects they create, you can save preset arrangements. This allows you to simply pop the customer’s artwork into the Photoshop file and tweak accordingly for the perfect look.
